You might be feeling like the gears are starting to rust up, the fire dwindling, chord sequences repeating, old ideas rehashing, etc etc. We’d like to make a suggestion to break the rut, should it exist, and inject some new energy back into what you’re doing.
We’ve had lots of inspiration, cherished memories and joy come from packing a load of music shit into a car and driving to the seaside for 5 days. Appreciate that this won’t be a possibility for everyone, but if you can, think of it as an investment in your artistic practice and relationships with your collaborators and friends.
Here's our guide on how to do a music trip on a budget

At the start of this year, we lost our family dog Kiwi. She stopped eating during Christmas 2023 and upon the new year, we discovered she had cancer and didn’t have long left. I was very fortunate to be able to go home for a few weeks and be with her and my family as we put her down. I felt lucky to have had her, to have carried her to the vet just as I’d carried her home 6 years prior.
Humans die and it’s sad and tragic, but often they’re aware of the circumstances of their lives. Their luck, their shortcomings, what they mean to others, what they leave behind. Dogs are these protochildren, aging quickly but innocent until the end. I loved that dog, and that dog loved me.
This album is dedicated to that feeling.
The love behind you and the love ahead.
The things we lose along the way.
The pain and joy that makes this strange life the trip it is.
RIP Kiwi and RIP all the dogs, canine or otherwise.
